The Association is an interest organization for local artisans and craftsmen, and focuses on education, exhibitions and marketing. Courses in different techniques are arranged on regular basis, as well as lectures and joint exhibitions. The Association’s summer exhibition at Eckerö Post & Customs’ House annually attracts approximately 20,000 visitors, and handicraft products by the members of the Association are sold at the exhibition shop Formriket.

Ålands Slöjd och Konsthantverk gives active support to new emerging craftsmen. The Association also co-operates with several culture associations and international handicraft organizations.
